Backyard paradise needs a gazebo

If you want to build a gazebo in your backyard, there are loads of gazebo plans available that will show you how to build a traditional design. These structures are not very big, but you can normally use them for al fresco meals or as a sheltered environment to sit and sip tea or a glass of wine. The visual appearance of a gazebo can be quite often why people want them in their backyard.
A gazebo is not particularly very big in size, however the design make it a little more difficult than some wood projects. This means there will be some carpentry skills that you will need to master before you get started. But if you get yourself some comprehensive but simple wood building plans, you should be able to build a traditional gazebo within a few weekends.
Gazebos have dated back hundreds of years and were usually found in England. Many gazebos were elevated to allow a person to sit and gaze out at the surroundings, hence where the name gazebo came from.
The traditional gazebo was usually built out of wood, although sometimes people used stone or even bricks for the walls. Another popular choice of material can be composite boards. The gazebo roof is a steep pitch and looks best with cedar shingles. Some gazebos may have had even a thatched roof.
A gazebo can provide great air circulation, if screened in. Even if there are solid walls you will still have at least one door opening & can have windows. Most gazebos have been built as an octogon, however they have been hexagonal as well as square.
Modern gazebo plans frequently follow the original gazebo tradition, although nowadays you can also get simple woodworking projects that will show you how to build a gazebo in the simplest possible way. A waist height solid wall would be best, while screening on the upper walls as well as a sreened door to enter. The roof is usually solid and typically high pitched, and it may be tiled, thatched or even simply covered with wooden boards. A good set of gazebo plans will be very helpful. Drilling & cutting will be required, so you will want to be comfortable with power tools. Gazebo building plans will give you an idea of the tools required for the job. You will need many smaller hand tools for the job, but the biggest tools to make the job much easier will be power tools such as a miter saw and a drill.
Making sure that you have all the necessary tools and materials before starting the gazebo will make life much easier. it is not fun when you find you don’t have the right screws,bolts or even a good sheet of sandpaper.
